Paul a chess coach came to UHPS to give us an experience of playing the game of chess.
We were given an introduction to the main rules such as the way the pieces could advance on the board and the difference between check and checkmate.
Paul shared a few techniques to use such as fool’s mate and a few surprising facts like do you know how many squares there are on a chessboard? There are 204 squares on a chessboard.
After we were taught how to play chess, we partnered up with another student. Now we could finally start playing chess.
We all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun to learn something new and challenging.
